Start Your Online Business

Figure The Cost

Don't Get Your Shoes Messy

What's The Ante? - What You're Really About To Step In

Making the transition from your day job to Internet marketing is far from simple.
When you start an Internet based business, you exchange safety and security for the
opportunity to earn more than you ever could at your current day job.

There is, however, no good reason to just jump in and say, "alright, I'm done with
working a regular job, I'm going to make this internet "thing" work for me."

That's a good attitude, nice and positive, but whoa, let reason reign here.  Keep your
day job.  Start your online business at a slower pace while keeping groceries on the
table.

You must first learn how to identify customer needs, to create products that satisfy
those needs, (or find affiliate products that do) and then find ways to match customers
with those products through marketing mechanisms.

If you don’t, you will end up like most Internet marketers: broke, disappointed,
resentful, and hopeless.

You have probably already decided that you will remain disciplined...and that you will
not fall for every business opportunity that comes your way. But if you are like most
newcomers to Internet marketing, you will fall prey to these schemes eventually.

You will give in, and you will join schemes and buy products that promise you the world,
but ultimately fall short.

It is my heartfelt wish to help you avoid that trap.

I truly believe that YOU can succeed as an Internet marketer as long as you practice
discipline, and as long as you follow a proven model that most successful marketers
have used to earn money.

I truly believe that "The Armchair Networker"  can show you the exact path that you
have to follow.

It’s NOT complicated and it’s NOT expensive...but if you want to be successful, you must
follow a plan without straying off the path to chase some centipuses "hypnotic
dreams."

(Read the first four articles for a full understanding about the Centipuses and their
"Hypnotic Dreams".  Click on the "Training Articles" link at the top of the page.)

You are about to embark on the long journey to success...but on your own terms, not
mine, and not theirs.

All I ask is that you read each issue of The Armchair Networker, apply my advice when
you feel it makes sense for your own business, and fiercely resist falling victim to the
"slippery slope" traps that are surely set for you.

You know, "Let Me Take You By The Hand" "Business In A Box" "X Amount Of $ in X
Amount of Days", and other Centipus traps.  Tempting, mesmerizing, entertaining and
deadly.

Stay Alert. Think For Yourself. It's really simpler than you think.  And remember, there is
no secret.

What Will You Need?

Domain Name -1&1 Domains and Hosting or http://www.theinternetcompany.ws
$7 to $10 per year each. You will want at least two, eventually.

Web Hosting - cheap=about $10 per month - better quality=$30 per month on up to
infinity, or Free with Turbo Membership.

Autoresponder:

Getresponse=about $18 per month
Aweber=  $20 per month.

These are the only two I would recommend, except for the one you get free with John
Delavera's Turbo Membership.  It is powered by Aweber.

PDF maker - Free=Openoffice.org.  Does it extremely well.

HTML Editer - Free=nvu.com  excellent wysiwyg.

A way to accept credit cards - You can get by with PayPal and ClickBank while you are
operating as an affiliate. They are reliable and cheap.

Once you start to sell you own products you can still use PayPal, and Clickbank will cost
you a one-time $50.

There are reasons as you advance that will prompt you to get a regular merchant's
account, but later.

It's your business, so you can handle advertising as you see fit.  I would budget a bare
minimum of $100 per month for that.  That's razor thin.

You may consider Pay Per Click, ezine ads, and any number of paid solutions that are
inexpensive (mostly), or you can use article marketing, which is mostly free, but slower.

Products.  ClickBank has thousands of products that pay up to 70% commission.
http://www.clickbank.com

Commission Junction http://www.cj.com also has many affiliate products.

Yes, it is true, there are places you can get free webspace, free autoresponders, but
you will quickly see, that's no way to try to run a business.  They will put their ads onto
your space, and everybody knows it.  Now, how professional will that look?

So you can see, there are some expenses.  If you want to go cheap, you can do it.  If
you want quality and faster progress, well you can do that too.

Here is my recommendation, which solves all these problems in a very elegant way, and
provides everything you need except a domain name, but you are still responsible for
your own advertising.

Look it over good.  You get everything.

Until next time,
